After buried underground for centuries, they re-emerged to terrorize Ninjago. Their appearance and formidable abilities serve to heighten the stakes for the ninjas. The individual Giant Stone Warrior, reanimated by the Great Devourer's venom, further highlights this threat.
Stone Warrior's Competition :
Throughout the series, the Stone Warriors interact with various characters, primarily the ninja and their allies. The Stone Army, under General Kozu's command, fights against all of the ninja, including Lloyd, Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole, during their effort to conquer Ninjago. They also clash with Misako and Sensei Wu, as their research and historical knowledge help the ninja understand and combat the ancient threat. Additionally the Giant Stone Warrior in particular has direct interactions with several characters. He initially pursues the ninja and Misako through the Ninjago Museum of History after his reanimation. Nevertheless he later finds himself in Kryptarium Prison, where he attempts to fight the ninja, along with the Anacondrai Cultists.
Stone Warrior's Importance :
The Stone Warriors' existence has important lore implications, of Ninjago and the ongoing conflict between good and evil. Their creation by The Overlord using refined dark matter underscores his malevolent power and his ancient rivalry with the First Spinjitzu Master. The Warriors are indestructible to conventional methods, forcing the ninja to seek a different approach. This leads the ninjas to find the Temple of Light and the Elemental Blades. Hence the ninja's initial powers, have limits requiring them to grow and discover new strengths. The Stone Warriors revival years later through the Great Devourer's venom demonstrates how even past evils can resurface. Their minifigure consists of red and black armor, glowing green eyes, and snarling face. Even the Giant Stone Warrior's appearance is almost identical to General Kozu's, showing a clear hierarchy and uniform within the army.
