The Elemental Masters were invited to Master Chen's Tournament of Elements under the claim of a fair Competition with a grand prize for the Winner.  However, Chen actually wanted to use his Staff of Elements and a Powerful Spell to steal the rivals' Elemental Powers, transforming himself and his followers into a Fake Anacondrai Army.  The Ninja participated in the Tournament to find their missing friend Zane, who had been captured by Chen.  Skylor, the Master of Amber, could absorb and use others' Elemental Powers and was Secretly Chen's Daughter, initially helping her Father before eventually Betraying him.  Karlof, the Master of Metal, was the First Master to be Eliminated from the Tournament, losing a tough fight to Kai.  Neuro, the Master of Mind, used his Telepathy to predict opponents' moves and later used his powers to confirm the Ninja'sWarnings about Chen's Plan.  Griffin Turner, the Master of Speed, used his Super Speed in various challenges and was among the First to side with the Ninja Against Chen.  Upon discovering Chen's True Intentions, the surviving Elemental Masters allied with the Ninja to end his plan of conquering Ninjago with a Fake Anacondrai Army.
