The Hypnobrai were initially released from their Ice Tomb by Lloyd Garmadon and served under his command for a short time. After Skales defeated Slithraa in a Slither Pit, he became the new General and allied the Tribe with Pythor P. Chumsworth. Under Pythor's Leadership, the entire Serpentine united in a collective effort to find the Four Fang Blades required to awaken the Great Devourer. The Hypnobrai utilized their unique power of Hypnotism to manipulate both humans and the Ninja, Cole. After the Great Devourer's destruction, the Serpentine, now led by Skales attempted to conquer Ninjago City by burying it to make way for their own City. Following the Serpentine's second imprisonment, the Hypnobrai made peace with the humans, choosing to live peacefully underground and refusing to get involved in surface world.
