Lego The Great Devourer Background :
Lego The Great Devourer existed as a massive, almost unstoppable Serpent, primarily lime and earth green with a slight copper tint. She has two Large Fangs and glowing purple, originally red eyes. Furthermore, her tail features a sharp, bone-like spike. As a Small Viper, she appeared a lighter shade of green. The Great Devourer's most well-known feature is her constant growth; her size, reaching hundreds of feet in length, making her nearly impossible to hide. However, she does have one small, inaccessible weak spot on the top of her head. The Overlord corrupted the Snake with Darkness, transforming her into this monstrous form with a venom that turned pure hearts evil.
Lego The Great Devourer Role :
Lego The Great Devourer plays a major, role in the lore of Ninjago. She serves as the overarching antagonist of the first Season. Her initial bite, corrupts a Young Garmadon with Evil, setting into motion the plot of the Series' events. After Pythor released the Great Devourer, the serpent's rampage killed Harumi's Parents. This loss and destruction ultimately led Harumi to become a Villain. Pythor P. Chumsworth uses the Four Fangblades to awaken her, but she immediately swallowed him and Sensei Wu. Even after her defeat, the Serpent's venom resurrected the Stone Army, and her Eggs spawned the Vermillion.
The Great Devourer's Journey :
The Great Devourer primarily displayed a bitter personality, with a massive appetite to consume everything in her path. She did not discriminate, attempting to devour her own supposed worshippers, the Serpentine, along with the Ninja and Civilians. According to Ancient Serpentine Legends, the Devourer protects Humans; and scares them Underground for safety from the Golden Master. Whereas, the Overlord's deep Corruption denies her of any peaceful intentions, leading her to a destructive path.
The Great Devourer's Interactions :
Many characters directly interacted with the Great Devourer. The Ninja Team, including: Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane, battled the Great Devourer, with Kai spotting her weak spot. The Ninjas trick the Devourer into biting her own tail to stop her. Nya aided the fight using her Samurai Mech and helped the Ninjas evade the Devourer's attacks. The Serpentine Generals Fangtom, Skales, Acidicus, and Skalidor initially worshipped the Devourer, until fear arises within them as she's released. Ultimately, Lord Garmadon, wielding all Four Golden Weapons, plunges the weapons into the Devourer's weak spot, causing her to explode. Nevertheless, the Devourers influence persisted long after her physical destruction, shaping events for Seasons to come.
