Background :
LEGO The Blizzard Archers, were an army of Elemental Ice creations and servants of the Ice Emperor during the "Ice Chapter" of Ninjago, Season 11: Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu. They followed the Ice Emperor's (Zane's) orders under the command of General Vex, participating in many battles against the Ninja, Formlings, and the Ice Fishers. The Blizzard Archers and Blizzard Sword Masters were entirely made of snow and ice, contrasting with the corrupted human "Blizzard Warriors" who made up the rest of the army. They were ultimately destroyed when Zane regained his memories and broke the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu, ending their reign of terror in the Never-Realm.
Appearance :
The Blizzard Archers have a translucent icy appearance, the Minifigure features a lightly aqua face, two glowing blue eyes, and a metallic dark red samurai helmet and shoulder armor. In the show, they lacked the shoulder armor piece, having only one sleeve. The Blizzard Archers primarily wielded ice-enhanced crossbows, which they used to launch barrages of ice arrows at their enemies. These arrows shattered into pieces upon defeat in battle.
Role :
General Vex frequently urged the Ice Emperor to order the Blizzard Samurai, including the Blizzard Archers to conquer villages and destroy the Ice Fishers' village. Their importance lay in their numbers and obedience, acting as a constant, relentless threat that nearly overwhelmed the local inhabitants and the Ninja. They were crucial to maintaining the Ice Emperor's command on the land, freezing everything in their path and ensuring no one could challenge their power.
Interactions :
The Blizzard Archers interacted with various characters throughout the Season. They fought against the Ninja, Lloyd, whom they nearly froze on two occasions. The Blizzard Archers also engaged in a major battle against the Ice Fishers, a group of villagers including Sorla and Uthaug, who fought back with the Ninja's help. Additionally, two Archers watched over the captured Grimfax in the Ice Castle, the true king of the Never-Realm whom the Ice Emperor had overthrown. Ultimately, the Blizzard Archers' existence was tied to the Ice Emperor, their creator. After Vex's manipulation was exposed and Zane destroyed his scepter, the magical hold on the Blizzard Archers and Blizzard Sword Masters was broken, destroying them completely and restoring peace to the Never-Realm.
