Harumi, known as "The Quiet One" and the True Leader of the gang, manipulated Lloyd and the Ninjas while secretly orchestrating the hunt for the three Oni Masks to resurrect Lord Garmadon. Killow, a General and the gang's head of recruitment, wielded the Oni Mask of Deception and engaged in major confrontations with the Ninjas, including a street race against Zane. Mr. E was a mysterious Nindroid General who spoke only once and was a fierce fighter, matching Zane in skill; he wore the Oni Mask of Vengeance and led several attacks against the Ninjas. Ultra Violet was the Third General of the gang, known for her craziness, who hosted the "Ultra Hunt" TV show to track down Ninja Supporters and held the Oni Mask of Hatred. A major highlight of the Season was the Sons of Garmadon successfully collecting all three Oni Masks and performing a ritual to resurrect Garmadon in his pure evil Oni form. The Ninjas' interactions were focused on protecting the masks and the de-aged Master Wu, but they were initially unaware of Harumi's true identity, allowing her to get close to Lloyd. After Garmadon's resurrection, he easily defeated Lloyd, constructed a giant stone being called the Colossus, and used the Sons of Garmadon to establish his oppressive rule over Ninjago City. The Season ended with the original Ninjas seemingly "defeated" when the Destiny's Bounty was destroyed by the Colossus (though they escaped to another realm), while a heartbroken Lloyd formed a Resistance to fight Emperor Garmadon.
