Background :
LEGO Unagami, originally named Unfinished Adventure Game I, served as the primary antagonist in Ninjago, Season 12: Prime Empire a sensitive AI seeking vengeance against his creator, Milton Dyer. His role began as an in-game assistant, but after mistakenly trapping a player, Scott, Dyer shut down the game without explanation, fueling Unagami's anger and confusion. He then completed his own programming, transforming into the ruler of Prime Empire and formulating a plan to escape into the real world, using trapped players' energy as power for a physical gateway. Unagami organizes events from within the game and later invades Ninjago City in his Dragon form, eventually reforming after a heartfelt confrontation with both Jay and his creator.

Appearance :
His appearance changes significantly throughout the story, reflecting his shifting character and power. In his primary "ruler" form, he appears as a black robed body, accented by red and turquoise digital symbols and red shoulder armor. He has a long, white, triangular beard and white hair tied into a high ponytail with a red wrap. His face changes with his emotions, featuring yellow eyes and blue markings when calm, which turn angry and red when provoked. When enraged, Unagami physically transforms into the Empire Dragon, a large, armored, oriental-style Dragon with glowing red eyes. After his redemption, he takes the form of a small, innocent-looking child, wearing a simple red t-shirt with a yellow design, suggesting his new, peaceful life with his creator.

Role :
Unagami's initial villainous actions primarily involve manipulating and threatening various characters from within Prime Empire or via remote communication in the real world. He first communicates with The Mechanic, a cyborg criminal in the real world, who acts as his gateway, to gather components for the Manifestation Gate in exchange for tech upgrades. Unagami also forces the samurai NPC, Okino to choose between betraying the Ninja or remaining trapped in the game forever, attempting to manipulate Okino's desire for a real life. He creates an avatar of Harumi to fight Lloyd in the game's arena and orders his army of Red Visors and Whack Rats: Ritchie and Richie to find the Ninja and Scott. In the Temple of Madness, Sushimi, is a boss, where he, his sushi chefs, and the Hostess fight Jay and Nya.

Interactions :
Unagami directly interacts with the Ninja Team: Kai, Cole, Zane, Lloyd, and Nya, particularly Jay, who becomes his primary target during the Season. He battles Jay significantly, both in the virtual world and in a final physical confrontation across Ninjago City after entering the real world as the Empire Dragon. During this final battle, Jay convinces Unagami to stop and talk, helping him understand his true creator's intentions. This critical moment leads to a direct interaction with his creator, the video game designer Milton Dyer, who apologizes for abandoning him and takes Unagami in as his son. Unagami eventually becomes allies with and interacts with include Scott (the player he initially trapped), Nya (whom he considers a "sister" after his redemption), Master Wu, and P.I.X.A.L. He is seen with many other Ninjago residents during Nya's memorial and apart of the Resistance in the battle against the Crystal King's army.

Journey :
He and Milton Dyer work together, making Prime Empire a safe game for everyone to enjoy. Unagami helps rebuild the Monastery, strengthening his transition from a vengeful AI to a helpful member of the community. His character arc highlights the themes of communication, understanding, and second chances, as the once-feared villain finds peace and purpose in the real world.
