Background :
LEGO Okino, is a samurai and former NPC, featured in Ninjago, Season 12: Prime Empire, as well as making appearances in Season 14: Seabound and Season 15: Crystalized. His journey from a programmed guide with an existential crisis to the independent Rōnin of Terra Karana, who chooses his own path, provides a powerful character arc, reguarding free will and self-discovery. Okino, wears a detailed white samurai gi and carries his katana on his back. A black hairpiece styled in a long ponytail with a topknot sits atop his head, and his face features a stern expression and a beard. In the show, Okino's character model includes subtle leg prints resembling sandals, a detail not present on the physical minifigure. His design resembles the stoicism and discipline expected of a samurai, visually reinforcing his "duty-bound" personality.

Appearance :
Okino's core role involves guiding players through the dangerous hazards of Terra Karana, a dangerous game zone within Prime Empire. He consistently led numerous "masters", who are the players, through the Forest of Discontent, the Cliffs of Hysteria, and the Maze of the Red Dragon, seeking the Purple Key-Tana. The game was rigged for failure, however, and when he constantly lost his masters to the game's hazards, Okino's confidence shattered, leaving him discouraged and questioning his purpose. When the Ninja arrive, they offer him a chance at redemption, allowing him to ultimately break his programming and forge his own destiny.

Interactions :
Okino interacts with various characters throughout his time in Prime Empire and the real world. He guides a cocky Newbie Gamer, a Gamer Geek, a Successful Samurai and his Sage Master, and an Adventure-Ready Woman, all of whom are eliminated in the game's challenges. Okino builds a strong alliance with the Ninja: Lloyd Garmadon, whom he calls "Master Lloyd" and engages with, Kai, Jay, Cole, and Nya. He interacts with his Creator, Unagami, who opposes Okino, to help the Ninja. When Unagami's, Manifestation Gate brings Prime Empire's NPCs into Ninjago City, the Whack Rats: Ritchie and Richie, in addition to the Red Visors who enter the real world, where Okino helps fight them alongside the Ninja. Okino interacts with news reporter Gayle Gossip and her cameraman Vinny Folson, primarily toward the end of Season 12 in episode"Game Over." Okino is seen in Ninjago City, where he defends Gayle and Vinny from the Red Visors. They are surrounded by the hostile Red Visors, but the threat is neutralized when Unagami shuts them down, leaving the trio safe.

Journey :
Okino's importance extends beyond his initial role as a guide; he serves as a powerful symbol of overcoming destiny. His transition from a NPC to a true Rōnin, a samurai without a master who chooses his own adventure, demonstrates the ability to resist programming and choose one's own path. After the game's resolution, Okino chooses to live a real life in Ninjago City, remaining brave and supporting his friends in later conflicts, such as the battle against the Crystal King's army. Apart of the Resistance, he fought alongside the Ninja and their other allies, notably helping Nya defeat the Mechanic.
